The following is a list of recent changes and improvements made to QRYTool/400. Most
changes are made as the direct result of a customer request. If you have changes you would like

We found a couple of objects in QRYTool/400 that were not compatible with i/OS V6. The update makes
the product V6 ready.
This update is available via the Internet as PTF package KQPTF110 which also includes some product fixes.
Registered customers of QRYTool/400 Release 1 can obtain this PTF as an E-mail attached file by just

At the request of a customer, we have added an option to the query analysis process that will perform
a full reset on the history file used by QRYTool/400. The customer found this helpful when the queries
on their system were in a constant state of change.

Effective: September 16, 2003
As of release 1.05, QRYTool/400 now has two different analysis reports available. The main
original report lists the files used by analyzed queries by library and file name. The new report
lists all queries analyzed by query showing the files used.

Effective: September 16, 2003
As of release 1.05, QRYTool/400 now keeps information about analyzed queries on file in a
master file. Using this approach, you do not need to continually analyze old queries in order to
use the various product features.

Effective: August 29, 2003
A new feature has been added to the on-line display of your Query information. Using this new
option, you can quickly take a look at the source code for your Query and determine such things
as fields used, selection criteria, sort sequences and more. This can give you quick reference
information without waiting for the WRKQRY utility to run.

Several customers asked us if we could include information about Query output files in the
QRYTool/400 product. We have now implemented an optional feature which will extract
information about any output files that are created by Queries on your system and will include
them in the tool reporting features.

With this update, a new option has been added to the On-Line Analysis Display functions. Option
8 will now display object information about the selection Query Definition Object. Both *FULL
and *SERVICE object information can be displayed.
