To install the ScreenSafer/400 product on your system from the SFINST.EXE file you downloaded, please follow these exact instructions:

Note: These instructions can only be used for new product installations. If you are an existing ScreenSafer/400 customer, contact us for instructions and do not attempt this process.

1. Click on the downloaded self-extracting file and extract the install file named SFINST.400.

2. Signon as a security officer

3. Create a save file in library QGPL on your system named KISCO

4. Start FTP processing on your AS/400 using the command: STRTCPSVR *FTP (if you normally keep FTP active on your system, you can skip this step)

5. The SFINST.400 file needs to be FTP'd into the KISCO *SAVF file on your system. There are many ways to do this, here is just one that should work on most systems:

   Transfer the attached file to the save file by doing the following from your PC.

   1. Start a DOS window on your PC
   2. Create a temporary directory and store the ScreenSafer/400.400 file in it
   3. Use the CD command to point your DOS session to this temporary directory
   4. Start an FTP session with your AS/400 from the DOS session with the FTP command and logon using a security office user profile
   5. Issue the following two FTP commands:

      BIN
      PUT SFINST.400 QGPL/KISCO

   6. Exit FTP using the QUIT command

6. If you had to start FTP on your system, you can now end it using the command:
   ENDTCPSVR *FTP

7. On your system, run the following command:

   RSTLIB SAVLIB(SCR4INST) DEV(*SAVF) SAVF(QGPL/KISCO)
   MBROPT(*ALL) ALWOBJDIF(*ALL) RSTLIB(SCRSFR400)

8. Go to the menu named INSTALL in the library SCRSFR400 and run option #1. This will complete the install process.
