Internet Install Instructions
To install the SpoolMover/400 product on your system from the SMINST.EXE file you downloaded, please follow these exact instructions:
Note: These instructions can only be used for new product installations. If you are an existing SpoolMover/400 customer and you want to update your software to the latest release, contact us for instructions and do not attempt this process.
- Click on the downloaded self-extracting file and extract the install file named
SMINST.400.
- Signon as a security officer
- Create a save file in library QGPL on your system named KISCO
- Start FTP processing on your iSeries-AS/400 using the command: STRTCPSVR *FTP (if
you normally keep FTP active on your system, you can skip this step)
- The SMINST.400 file needs to be FTP'd into the KISCO *SAVF file on your system. There
are many ways to do this, here is just one that should work on most systems:
Transfer the attached file to the save file by doing the following from your PC.
- Start a DOS window on your PC
- Create a temporary directory and store the SMINST.400 file in it
- Use the CD command to point your DOS session to this temporary directory
- Start an FTP session with your iSeries-AS/400 from the DOS session with the FTP command and logon using a security office user profile
- Issue the following two FTP commands:
BIN
PUT SMINST.400 QGPL/KISCO - Exit FTP using the QUIT command
- If you had to start FTP on your system, you can now end it using the command:
ENDTCPSVR *FTP - On your system, run the following command:
RSTLIB SAVLIB(KISSPLMINS) DEV(*SAVF) SAVF(QGPL/KISCO)
MBROPT(*ALL) ALWOBJDIF(*ALL) RSTLIB(KISSPLMOV) - Go to the menu named INSTALL in the library KISSPLMOV and run option #1. This will complete the install process.
