SQUASH Recent Changes Log

Remote PTF/Update Service

Effective date: 06/23/99

Two new commands have been added to SQUASH.

The SQARCC command (Copy Archive Member) allows the user to copy a member from the archive for a source file back into the source file while leaving the copy active in the archive. This feature is useful when coding your own applications to use members from the archive file.

The ARCOMP command (Compile Archive Member) lets you compile a program that is stored in the archive for a source file without first extracting it. This is useful for customers who are working on RISC migration and just want a fresh compile for a program.

Both of these new features are now available as a remote PTF. They are contained in PTF package SQPTF402. If you are interested in getting these new features for your copy of SQUASH, please let us know via E-mail and we will send the PTF package to you.

Effective date: 12/27/96

SQUASH now supports distribution of program updates remotely via the Internet. To use this feature, you must obtain SQUASH Version 3.08 or greater from Kisco Information Systems and install it on your system(s). With this feature, you can receive program updates and fixes from Kisco via the Internet. Initially, you must request the update via an E-mail attached PC file. In the near future, we will be making these update packages available for direct download from our Website.

Support Added for ILE and C Compiles

Effective date: 09/30/96

Support has now been added that allows you to compile compressed source members for ILE programs and all C programs. Until this change, these programs had to be decompressed before they could be compiled. Now, as with all other compressed source members, these can be compiled without being decompressed beforehand.

New command added for direct display of an archived member

Effective date: 08/16/96

As a result of a customer request, a new command has been added to SQUASH that enables the user to display the contents of an archived member directly. Until this point, a user could only view the contents of a member in the on-line archive by using the browse facility. Providing the display command enables application programs to have view access to members in the archive.

Source File Analysis report improved

Effective date: 01/11/96

This changes forces the Source File Analysis report processing to run in batch. Until now, this report was always run in the interactive environment which could cause performance problems for some users.
