Note: During installation processing, a new user profile named IRESETME will be created on your system with *SECOFR class attributes. The profile will be created with no password and in *DISABLED state for security reasons. Do not delete this profile.

To install iResetMe on your system from the save file you downloaded, please follow these exact instructions. Please note that these instructions can be used whether you are installing iResetMe for the very first time or if you are upgrading an existing installation.

1. Sign on to your IBM i from a 5250 terminal session. You must sign on using a security officer user profile (*SECOFR). During the install, make sure that this is the only session active for the profile.
   
   
2. After completing your logon process, run the IBM i OS command DSPMSG and clear any messages that are displayed. You can clear all of the using the F16 function key. If you are unable to remove messages it indicates that the user profile is already logged into the system from another session. The install process cannot continue until this is resolved.
   
   
3. Check the following system values. They should be set as indicated here. If they are not, note the current settings then change them to these settings:

   QALWOBJRST - *ALL
   QVFYOBJRST - value 3 or lower
   QFRCCVNRST - value 0
   

   Note: If you have to change any of these system values, make note of the original setting and make sure that you set them back to the original setting immediately following this installation process.

4. If you are upgrading an existing installation, make sure that you end all iResetMe processes, especially any HTTP server instances that may be active. You can use option #9 from the MASTER menu to check for activity. Option #8 from that same menu will end the active server instance. Also, make sure that no iResetMe menus are active with any display sessions.
   
   
5. Run the following command to create a save file on your system:

   CRTSAVF FILE(QGPL/IRMINST)
   TEXT('iResetMe Install Objects from Kisco Systems’)

6. From your PC, create a folder on your desktop named TEMP and move the downloaded save file into it. The save file will be named IRMINSTnnn.SAVF where the nnn indicates the software release level.
   
   
7. This file now needs to get transferred into the IRMINST save file just created on your system in the QGPL library. This can be done using the following method:

   > Start the FTP server on your system: STRTCPSVR *FTP (if it is already running, no need to do this again)
   > Open a window on your PC and change to the TEMP folder on your desktop
   > Start an FTP session with your IBM i system: FTP yoursystem.com
   > Complete the sign-on process
   > Issue the following FTP commands:
   

   BIN
   PUT IRMINSTnnn.SAVF QGPL/IRMINST

   > When the PUT command ends, use the command “QUIT” to exit FTP.
   At this point, the software is ready to install or upgrade on your system.
   
   
8. From the command line, run the install process with the following command:

   LODRUN DEV(*SAVF) SAVF(QGPL/IRMINST)

   This will install the software on your system for your thirty day trial period.
   
   
9. Before the software installs, you will be prompted to confirm the installation. The prompt will confirm the product name being installed and the version that will be installed. If it is an upgrade, you will also see the currently installed version. You must respond as follows to this prompt:

   G – Go ahead and process C – Cancel the process

   When you reply with G, the install or upgrade will complete.
   
   
10. If you have just installed iResetMe as an upgrade, go to the INSTALL menu in library IRMLIB and run option #2. Check the installation status shown at the center of the screen to make sure that it still shows that the software is permanently installed. If you see any other status, contact Kisco Information Systems as the software will not function properly until this is corrected.

During the install processing, a document called "Additional Documentation Topics" will print. This includes the latest system changes and documentation since the last time the user manual was updated.
