New option to require end-users to register an email address.

When an end-user is activating their registration in iResetMe, it has always been an option for them to provide their email address for use with the software. We have now added an option that makes this mandatory during account activation.

Optional security feature added.

Some customers want to hide the identify of the software that is being used for profile resets from their user community as a security precaution. iResetMe now has this feature as an option. When implemented, none of the browser panels or email messages will include a reference to "iResetMe".

Command added to help cleaning up old user profiles.
Effective date: April 3, 2019
A command has been added to iResetMe to help clean up user profiles registered for the software. When user profiles are removed from the system, this command will search through the registrations in iResetMe and clean out user profiles that no longer exist.
Concurrent with this change, the "Work With User Enrollments" display will now highlight user profiles that no longer exist by flagging them with a status of "InvldPrf".

New command added for user registration removal.

A new command has been added that can be used in customer CL programs to let users registered in iResetMe be removed. This will help for user profile removal and retirement on systems where this process has been automated.

User registration exit point added.
Effective date: November 3, 2017
At the request of a customer, we have added a new exit point to iResetMe. This exit point calls a customer provided program whenever an end user successfully completes their enrollment registration process. A single parameter is passed to your program, the user profile of the user in question.

Filtering Added to Work with Users.

This update lets someone administering iResetMe to limit the display when working with registered user profile to those that are inactive, failed, active or all users. This makes followup on users easier.

Email HTML text formatting option.

Prior to this change, all email notifications in iResetMe were formatted using plain text. Now, once activated, email message text can be formatted using HTML and your choice of font.

User Registration Report Selections.

The listing function that generates a report of the registered users in iResetMe has been enhanced. Users with like status are now grouped together on the listing and a selection option has been added so that you can limit the users being listed to just certain status accounts.

Exit point program option added.

iResetMe has been updated with an exit point program option. This will allow customers to code their own processing to be run whenever a user profile password is changed within the iResetMe process. This can be used for customized user logging of changes or for posting updates to Active Directory entries; or whatever other special requirements the customer may want.

Message disposition option for QSYSMSG added.

Based on a customer request, we have added an option that will cause messages posted by the IBM i OS to the QSYSMSG message queue to be left on the queue following processing by iResetMe.

Release 3 Announced - support for French added.

Support has now been added for French language speakers. This can be set globally for the entire system or on a user-by-user basis.

New case sensitivity option added.
Effective date: April 11, 2017
Before this change, all challenge responses during a password reset were required to observe case sensitivity. At the request of a customer, we have added an option so that, on a global basis, response validation can be set to ignore case sensitivity. The current case sensitive setting is still set as the default.

Expired password notification added.
Effective date: November 8, 2016
A new option has been added to iResetMe that will analyze registered user profiles looking for those where the password has expired recently. When a qualifying user profile has been identified, an email notification will be sent to the end user automatically. The email includes a link to iResetMe so they can start the password change process.

Network neighborhood reset option added.
Effective date: September 16, 2016
A new option has been added to iResetMe that will let end users reset their profile for Network Neighborhood use. On the IBM i, a profile can be disabled for network neighborhood use and still be used for other signon processes. Prior to this change, iResetMe did not do network resets. With this update, network resets are now done. In addition, there is an optional monitor for network profile failures with automatic email notification to the end user, provided that they are registered with a working email address.

As shipped, iResetMe can be administered by any user profile with *SECOFR authority. With this change, an option can be activated to limit administration of the software to specific user profiles.

First, the notification email messages have been enhanced. The contact information stored in the IRMSET command (option #9 on the INSTALL menu) has been added as a footer to the email message text to better identify the email to the end-user.
The second improvement is that when a new user is registering their challenge question responses, the panel on the browser will now show the end-user what the minimum number of characters required in each response is. This variable is controlled from the IRMSET command (option #9 on the INSTALL menu).

User profile change notifications via email.

With this change, when an end-user registers their email address during their initial enrollment, then whenever iResetMe is used to change their password or to reset their profile when it is disabled, an email will be sent to the user notifying them of the change. With this feature, a user can monitor for unauthorized changes to their user profile via iResetMe activity.

User registration editing enhanced.

When a user first registers and provides their answers to the challenge questions, we have now enhanced this process by not allowing the user to enter the same response to each question posed. Prior to this, iResetMe required that the user specify different questions. This is now further enhanced.

Browser session IP address added to activity log.

Based on a customer request, we have added the IP address of the browser session to the activity log information in iResetMe. While this information was available in the Apache logs on the system, moving it to the iResetMe Activity Logs stores the information for as long as the customer wants to have it available.

Option to remove "Reset Only" choice from end user.

Some customers have reported that the "Reset Only" option is not familiar to their end users.This has now been made a user set option so that you can remove this option from the end users view when they are performing a reset.

Selectively suppress password rules.

Some customers have related that their end users are confused by some of the system level password rules that show on the optional list of password rules when they are creating their new password. A change has now been implemented that lets customers selectively suppress specific system level rules from showing on the list.

Several customers who are using iResetMe on multiple platforms and partitions have asked to be able to easily customize the log-on panel HTML to differentiate each implementation. To accomodate this request, an option has been added to the INSTALL menu that allows you to edit the HTML and make changes.

Double entry password validation option added.

At the request of a customer, we have added an option that, when active, requires the end-user to enter their new password twice. Before the new password is accepted, iResetMe verifies that both fields entered match each other.

Support added Spanish speaking installations.

iResetMe has now been upgraded to support multiple end-user languages which can be customized on a user-by-user basis. Included now with the base package is language support for English and Spanish speakers. The default language upon initial installation is English but this can be changed on either a system wide basis or for specific users.
This update is available only available by version upgrade or initial software download. No interim PTF is available.

Optional contact information on browser session error displays.

At the request of a customer, we have added contact information that can be set by the customer. Two new 50 character fields can be maintained in the global settings for the installation. When an error is shown through a browser session to an end-user, if these two text fields are present, they will be added to the browser display. These can be used to advise the end-user where then can get support and can include a telephone number or email address or any other text that can be of assistance.

Minimum question response length edit added.

At the request of a customer, we have added a global setting to iResetMe that controls the minimum question response length, in characters, the will be accepted. During user registration processing, if a user responds to a question with a response that is too short, their registration will not be accepted. The setting comes pre-set to 6 characters, but can be changed for your installation requirements.

Release 2 Announced - new email notification feature.

Release 2 of iResetMe is now available complete with a full refresh for all documentation.
Included in Release 2 is a new email notification feature. When a user's email address has been recorded in iResetMe, then a monitor task running on your system will check for profiles that have been disabled by the system and automatically send an email to the affected user. The email will advise them of the disabled profile and give them a link to follow to the iResetMe password reset process to get their profile back in operation.

Optional challenge question response encryption added.

At the request of a customer, we have added an optional feature that, when enabled, causes iResetMe to encrypt the challenge question responses for all activated users in the system. This will provide security conscious customers with an extra level of security over access to the system.

At the request of a customer, we have added an optional feature that, when enabled, will show the current system password rules in force on the browser panel where the new password is keyed in by the end user. Provision is made to add user-based rules in addition to the system rules. Different rules in various IBM OS release levels are supported.

Profile reset only option added.

With this change, when a user profile is disabled but the password has not expired, the user is offered an option to just reset the profile back to active without requiring a new password. The user can optionally choose to also provide a new password at this point.

Support added for long password, password level 2 and 3.

The initial release of iResetMe only supported password levels zero and one. These correspond to the traditional 10 character passwords used by most IBM i shops. Due to customer demand, however, we have now implemented support for long passwords on systems where the password level is set to 2 or 3.
